What are the Cranmer Awards?
The Cranmer Awards are run by the Prayer Book Society to introduce young
people to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. They are held annually.
What do entrants have to do?
Entrants select one or more passages from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer
of 3 to 5 minutes duration.
The passage may be read or recited at the heat. At the National Final it
must be learnt by heart and recited.
Who can enter?
There are two age groups: 11-14 and 15-18 years. To enter the junior
class you should be 11 but not yet 15 in the year of the finals on 1
February; and for the senior class, 15 but not yet 19 in the year of the
finals on 1st February.
The Salisbury regional heats for the 2019 Cranmer Awards will be held at
Sherborne School on Saturday 10th November 2018.
